Beyond Monitoring™ is designed to reliably process and manage millions of monitoring data points from sources such as Atlas‑InSAR and high‑frequency automated sensors.

The ability to handle very large monitoring datasets was a non‑negotiable requirement during the platform’s development.

On one infrastructure project in Auckland, the platform processes 7,600,000 data points every 11 days and has been operating continuously for over 30 months. Users can easily navigate this large database to identify trends and focus on critical areas.

Beyond Monitoring is highly scalable, delivering fast performance for both small geotechnical projects with a limited number of sensors and large tunnel or infrastructure projects with thousands of instruments. Monitoring data remains easy to access, visualize and analyse at any scale.

POWERFUL ALARMS & REPORTS

Alarm management is a core module of Beyond Monitoring™, enabling the centralized definition and management of alarms, regardless of the data source or sensor type.

The platform provides a flexible and configurable interface that allows users to quickly assess situations and take appropriate action based on real‑time monitoring data.

Alarms are accessible through multiple channels. A central dashboard consolidates all project alarms, while individual alerts can be delivered via email, SMS and the mobile app. A dedicated event journal records alarms and actions for traceability and quality assurance purposes.

Reporting is a fundamental component of any monitoring program and is often the primary interface for many stakeholders. Beyond Monitoring™ includes a comprehensive reporting module with both generic and fully customizable templates.

Daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports can be generated on demand or automatically, using predefined schedules, and delivered directly to users by email.

MOBILE APP FOR ALARMS AND DATA COLLECTION

Beyond Monitoring™ includes a mobile app for iOS and Android, designed for alarm management and manual monitoring data collection in the field.

Alarm notifications are pushed directly to the app, where users can review sensor locations, maps and time‑series data. Alarms can be acknowledged with comments and photos when required, improving traceability and response workflows.

Manual sensor data collection campaigns are configured through the web interface. Scheduled monitoring tours are then assigned to users and accessed via the mobile app.

Technicians are guided by the phone’s GPS to each sensor location to collect the required readings. Data entered in the field is immediately displayed on the device and compared with previous measurements to support continuity checks. Each sensor can also be identified using a QR code, reducing the risk of data entry errors.

DASHBOARD WITH KPIs

Beyond Monitoring™ includes project dashboards with key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide up‑to‑date visibility on the quality and performance of the monitoring system.

Dashboards consolidate critical information such as sensor reliability, alarm volumes, data availability and key measurement parameters, allowing users to quickly understand the current status of the monitoring program.

WEB GIS APPLICATION WITH ENHANCED CYBER SECURITY

Beyond Monitoring™ is a 100% web‑based GIS monitoring application, providing a high level of flexibility and accessibility without local software installation.

The platform can integrate web map services, such as site layouts or geological information, to enrich spatial views and help users better understand monitoring data in its geographical context.

Beyond Monitoring™ is delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) and hosted in the cloud. Multiple layers of cyber security are implemented to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all stored, processed and transmitted data.
